This week at Camp Judson

It’s day three of week one. So what are campers learning? The Mini 1 campers will tell you that coconut is not one of these…any guesses? Here’s a hint, they’re love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Sure enough, campers are learning the importance of the fruits of the spirit! Galatians 5:22-23 references these fruits. At Judson, campers are learning how to apply the fruits throughout their own lives. For example: waiting for marshmallows to toast for s’mores and trying to convince their little brother to stop asking, “Are we there yet?” in the car. These are some times campers could identify a time where it was important to be patient. They’ve also learned the importance of being patient with prayer. Many campers thought of family members and friends who were sick and became healthier after time and continual prayer.

Campers are encouraging each other on the rock wall, reminding each other of the rules in the dining hall, and teaching counselors the importance of laughter. Whether it’s bible study, arts and crafts or pool time, campers are trying their best to carry God’s love with them and bear His fruits in mind.
